U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes has called up 24 players for the 2025 Futures Camp, aimed at showcasing up-and-coming talent within the USWNT system. The camp will run from January 14-21 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. alongside the senior USWNT camp and includes 15 NWSL players, two of which were announced by the Seattle Reign FC today–Rutgers defender Emily Mason and UNC forward Maddie Dahlien.
This camp marks a significant step for young players transitioning from college and youth levels to the professional stage. Many on this roster have already made an impression in the NWSL, representing their clubs and gaining valuable minutes during the 2024 season, and have helped lead their Youth National Teams in major international tournaments.
NWSL Players in the Futures Camp
Goalkeeper
- Mia Justus (Utah Royals): Recently signed by Utah Royals, Justus is set to make her NWSL debut in 2025. She brings experience from the U.S. Youth National Teams and a solid collegiate career with Texas and Florida State, where she won the NCAA Championship in 2021.
Defenders
- Jordyn Bugg (Seattle Reign FC): Bugg made her NWSL debut for Seattle at the end of the 2024 season and was a key player for the U.S. U-20 team during the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
- Savy King (Bay FC): King logged over 1,100 minutes for Bay FC during her rookie NWSL season and played a critical role for the U.S. U-20s during the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
- Makenna Morris (Washington Spirit): A defensive anchor and attacking threat for the Spirit, Morris also brings international experience from youth national team camps.
- Lilly Reale (Gotham FC): After a stellar collegiate career with UCLA capped by a Big Ten Defender of the Year title and All-America honors, Reale is set to debut in the NWSL in 2025.
- Gisele Thompson (Angel City FC): The only Futures Camp player with prior senior USWNT training camp experience, Thompson has also gained valuable NWSL minutes with Angel City.
- Emily Mason (Seattle Reign FC): A standout Rutgers All-Big Ten defender with 72 starts out of 82 appearances, Mason is set to debut for the Reign in 2025 and has experience at the U-20 level.
Midfielders
- Claire Hutton (Kansas City Current): Hutton logged more minutes in her rookie NWSL season than any other player at this camp, playing 1,827 minutes across 24 matches for Kansas City.
- Riley Jackson (North Carolina Courage): A creative midfielder for the U.S. U-20s at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Jackson also co-captained the U-17s in 2022 and joined U-18/19 camps in 2023. With 18 appearances, 3 starts, and a key equalizer in the Summer Cup, she’s a rising star in North Carolina’s midfield.
- Ainsley McCammon (Seattle Reign FC): The youngest player in camp at 17, McCammon debuted for Seattle at the end of 2024 and was a standout at the U-17 World Cup, where she co-captained the U.S. to a third-place finish.
Forwards
- Michelle Cooper (Kansas City Current): In her second NWSL season, Cooper continued to develop as a dynamic attacker, scoring three goals in 2024. She captained the U.S. U-20 team at the 2022 World Cup.
- Maddie Dahlien (Seattle Reign FC): 2024 NCAA Champion with UNC, Dahlien played a key role in the U.S. U-20s’ bronze medal run at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and led UNC with seven assists during their title-winning season.
- Jameese Joseph (Chicago Red Stars): Joseph impressed during her rookie season with three goals for Chicago and brings versatility to their attack.
- Avery Patterson (Houston Dash): A 2024 fan favorite, Patterson brought creativity and relentless energy to the Dash, embodying the trademark grit and flair of UNC alumni.
- Reilyn Turner (Portland Thorns FC): Turner showcased her scoring prowess in 2024 with five goals, including four for Racing Louisville before her mid-season move to Portland. She's poised to elevate her game and build on a strong rookie season.
