Angel City FC’s Alyssa and Gisele Thompson Sign Contract Extensions Through 2028

Angel City FC has locked in its future by extending the contracts of hometown products, forward Alyssa and defender Gisele Thompson through 2028 with four and two-year extensions respectively.

Alyssa Thompson, 20, has made a significant impact since joining the club in 2023 as the first overall draft pick at the 2023 NWSL Draft. She has tallied nine goals and nine assists across 53 matches and earned recognition as a Rookie of the Year finalist and a three-time Best XI honoree. Last season, she was vital in defeating Southern California rivals the San Diego Wave in the two clubs’ final matchup of the season, scoring a brace to secure a 2-1 victory on the road.

19-year-old defender Gisele Thompson joined the team in 2024 and quickly established herself as a key defensive presence, logging 925 minutes in 16 matches and securing her first assist in the final game of the season. Gisele also contributed to the U.S. U-20 squad’s bronze-medal finish at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The sisters, who grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended Harvard-Westlake School, have been pivotal to Angel City’s identity as a community-focused club. Both were standout players with Total Futbol Academy’s MLS Next boys’ team and made headlines with early professional contracts. With the new contracts in place and a state-of-the-art training facility now open in Thousand Oaks, Angel City is building around its homegrown stars to drive future success.
