Soccer fans rejoiced last night as Christen Press made her long awaited return to the pitch in Angel City’s third Summer Cup match. Press was removed from the Season Ending Injury (SEI) list on Thursday and was available for selection for Friday’s match after being sidelined for 781 days.

Press entered the match in the 89th minute to thunderous applause and quickly made her presence known. When the match went to a PK shootout, Press was second for Angel City and buried the penalty which helped lead her team to the Summer Cup semifinals
