Cloé Lacasse’s Historic Hat Trick

Cloé Lacasse etched her name into Utah Royals FC and NWSL history books on Sunday, netting the first hat trick of the season and the first in club history during their 3-0 victory at home. Lacasse’s three goals, all scored in the first half, made her only the second player in NWSL history to complete a hat trick entirely within the opening 45 minutes.

The scoring spree began just over two minutes into the match when Lacasse found the net after a corner kick scramble, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

Utah didn’t let up, and in the 20th minute, Lacasse struck again with a clinical finish, doubling the Royals' lead.

As the team applied constant pressure, Lacasse capped off her remarkable performance just before halftime, securing her third goal after receiving a precise through ball before slotting it past the goalkeeper’s reach.

With the hat trick sealed, Utah cruised through the second half to close out the victory. Lacasse’s historic performance not only extended Utah's win streak to three but also cemented her place in the Royals' record books.
