The National Women’s Soccer League today announced Houston Dash keeper Jane Campbell has been named 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, becoming the first regular season award winner in club history.

NEW YORK (November 8, 2023) - The National Women’s Soccer League today announced Houston Dash keeper Jane Campbell has been named 2023 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, becoming the first regular season award winner in club history.

Campbell led all keepers in saves (91), fewest goals conceded (18) and goals against average (0.83), recording single-season career bests in all three categories. She ranked third in the league in shots on target faced (108) and clean sheets (8) and second in save percentage (83.33%). With just 18 goals allowed, the Dash were on the verge of making NWSL history, as the record for fewest goals conceded in a season is 17, set by the North Carolina Courage in 2017 and matched by Portland Thorns FC in 2021. With her career-high eight clean sheets, Campbell became just the fifth keeper to record 30 career regular season shutouts. The Kennesaw, Georgia native played every minute of the 2023 regular season, recording her third ironwoman season, joining former FC Kansas City and Utah Royals keeper Nicole Barnhart as the second keeper with three. Campbell is the first keeper to record three ironwoman seasons with the same club. The list of finalists was decided after a preliminary round of voting by owners, general managers, coaches, players and media. The finalists were then voted on by fans, owners, general managers, coaches, players and media.
