Spirit president Chris Hummer has been named general manager, the club said. “Jim has put as much of his heart and soul into women’s soccer, this league and this team as anyone,” Spirit owner Bill Lynch said in the team’s announcement. “He is a great professional with exceptional character and we can’t thank him enough for his efforts and wish him the best of luck.” The Spirit fell to the Dash 4-0 on Friday, their 12th straight game without a win (0-10-2 over those 12 games) and eighth straight loss.
