Houston Dash midfielder Kristie Mewis has suffered a left knee sprain and will miss the rest of the season, the team announced on Monday. Mewis was injured on Sunday night in Houston’s 3-2 win over the Washington Spirit.Mewis left Sunday’s game injured in the 19th minute. She initially went down in the 12th minute, but returned before leaving following a collision shortly after reentering the match. Mewis originally started the season on defense, but moved back into midfield and scored two goals. Most recently, she scored the game-tying goal for the Dash in their 2-1 win over the Reign last Wednesday.
