Nominee: Shae Holmes

Community Partner: MS, I’mpossible

Appreciation Night Match: September 16

Shae takes significant pride in using her platform as a professional athlete to impact the lives of others in a positive way. While environmental justice and sustainability has always been a passion, when teammate and friend Claudia Longo was diagnosed with MS, she immediately leapt into action to find ways to support her journey back to the soccer field and raise funds to find a cure for those living with MS. When Claudia founded MS I’mpossible Shae was a key supporter, volunteering for the organization at soccer clinics, and sharing the message on her social media platforms. Her enthusiasm even led Seattle Reign teammates to join her at soccer clinics, lending even more visibility and experience to the organization. Shae’s selflessness and unwavering commitment to MS I’mpossible showcases her servant-leader attitude. Over the course of the past 3 years Shae has taken any opportunity to educate, raise funds, and support the young adults with MS that Claudia serves. She expertly leverages her platforms as an athlete to encourage her fans to learn about and get involved with organizations she is connected to. Overall Shae is highly deserving of this recognition and would use the honor to continue to volunteer and give back to the community she has found as her second home.
