North Carolina Courage Acquire Jaedyn Shaw from San Diego Wave FC

The North Carolina Courage have added U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Jaedyn Shaw in a trade with San Diego Wave FC. Shaw, 20, is under contract through the 2026 NWSL season and brings a proven track record at both the club and international levels.

“Bringing Jaedyn here is a great day for our club,” said Courage Head Coach Sean Nahas. “She is someone who has every tool at such a young age and will be a key part of our club.”

Shaw joins the Courage after three standout seasons with the Wave, where she recorded 13 goals and four assists, including a pivotal role in San Diego’s 2023 Shield-winning campaign. Internationally, Shaw has been a force for the USWNT, with eight goals and one assist in 21 caps, helping the team claim titles at the 2024 Olympics and the 2024 SheBelieves Cup and was awarded the CONCACAF W Gold Cup Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.
