The National Women’s Soccer League announced today the final seedings as well as times and locations for the 2021 NWSL playoffs.

The National Women’s Soccer League announced today the final seedings as well as times and locations for the 2021 NWSL playoffs. The Chicago Red Stars kick off postseason play with the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5 seed NJ/NY Gotham FC at SeatGeek Stadium for the first quarterfinal match set for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 7. The contest will air live on CBS Sports Network. The Washington Spirit earned the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 seed North Carolina Courage in the second and final quarterfinal contest of the day at Audi Field in a 5:30 p.m. ET match that will stream live on Paramount+. Portland Thorns FC and OL Reign have earned quarterfinal byes. The Reign will host the winner of the North Carolina/Washington match Sunday, November 14 at 3 p.m. ET at Cheney Stadium, while the Thorns take on the winner of the Chicago/NJ/NY Gotham FC match at 5:30 p.m. ET at Providence Park. Both matches will air live on CBS Sports Network. All playoff matches will stream internationally outside the U.S. on the NWSL’s Twitch channel. Gotham FC punched their ticket to the playoffs for the first time since the 2013 season, while the Spirit earned their first playoff berth since 2016 when the squad advanced to the championship match. Chicago will look to advance to its second championship game after falling to the Courage in 2019. Portland and North Carolina have appeared in each of the last three postseasons, with the Courage claiming two titles in 2018 and 2019 and the Thorns winning the championship in 2017. OL Reign have reached the postseason four times, most recently in the 2019 season.
