NEW YORK (March 21, 2024) – The National Women’s Soccer League today announced that the Washington Spirit successfully appealed a red card issued to goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury following an incident in the first minute of second half stoppage time during the club’s match against Seattle Reign FC last Sunday.
The club’s appeal was successful after review by the league’s Independent Review Panel determined that Kingsbury had not denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. As a result, all disciplinary actions have been rescinded.
