Orlando Pride and Kansas City Current Start Season 4-0-0, Make NWSL History

For the first time in NWSL history, two teams have opened the season with four consecutive wins. Both the Orlando Pride and Kansas City Current are off to perfect 4-0-0 starts heading into Week 5 — a feat never before seen in league history.

Orlando traveled to Seattle and earned a handy 1-0 win thanks to Barbra Banda’s third goal of the season and a five-save shutout from Anna Moorhouse.

Meanwhile, Kansas City continued its red-hot form with a 2-0 win over San Diego, fueled by Debinha’s milestone 50th NWSL goal and Lo’eau LaBonta’s pinpoint penalty. The Current haven’t conceded since opening day and have extended their consecutive wins to eight games, tied with Orlando Pride’s record set in 2024. Goalkeeper Lorena notched her third straight clean sheet.

With three clean sheets apiece and a combined 21 goals, both clubs have shown they’re on track for another equally impressive season and potentially, a shot at lifting some hardware at the end of it.
