The Orlando Pride secured their first-ever NWSL Shield presented by CarMax with a 2-0 victory at home over the second-place Washington Spirit on Sunday.
Marta broke the deadlock in the 56th minute after converting a penalty earned by Barbra Banda.

In the 73rd minute, Adriana forced the Pride’s second goal after her shot deflected past Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury.

At the final whistle, the Pride officially were declared the 2024 NWSL Shield Winners, making them the fifth different team to claim the Shield in the past five seasons. The win not only sealed the regular-season title but also marked the first trophy in the club’s history.
