Orlando Pride’s Anna Moorhouse Sets New Single Season Shutout Record

Last Friday, Orlando Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse etched her name in NWSL history books by breaking the single-season record for shutouts. Moorhouse secured her 12th clean sheet of the season, surpassing the previous mark set by AD Franch in 2017 with the Portland Thorns, solidifying her reputation as one of the league's top shot-stoppers.

Reflecting on the accomplishment, Moorhouse shared her thoughts after the match. "It’s something that I set as a goal at the beginning of the season,” she said,” I'm really happy to achieve that.”

Moorhouse’s achievement not only highlights her individual brilliance but also the collective effort of her teammates. “The defensive work rate from the whole team has been massive,” said Moorhouse. “I know it’s my name that gets put with that record, but honestly, it should be Orlando Pride because I literally could not do it without them.”

Moorhouse’s historic season sets a new standard for excellence but her season is far from over. As she noted, “It's a great feeling to have it just be me, it's not a tied record. Now we have five games left to go, so I just want to extend that record as much as I can."

With the record in her grasp and now, the Week 20 Save of the Week, Moorhouse and the Pride remain focused on finishing the season strong, aiming to extend the shutout mark and push further in their journey for glory.
