The National Women’s Soccer League’s Disciplinary Committee has made the following decision regarding an incident involving Chicago Red Stars midfielder Julia Bianchi that occurred in the 63rd minute of the team’s June 25 match against NJ/NY Gotham FC.

NEW YORK (June 30, 2022) – The National Women’s Soccer League’s Disciplinary Committee has made the following decision regarding an incident involving Chicago Red Stars midfielder Julia Bianchi that occurred in the 63rd minute of the team’s June 25 match against NJ/NY Gotham FC.

After review of the incident, the Disciplinary Committee found Bianchi’s conduct to be in violation of Section 12.4.6, “Major Game Misconduct”, of the League Operations Manual. As a result, a one-game suspension has been issued to Bianchi, which will be served during the club’s next match on Saturday, July 1.
