USWNT and Portland Thorns FC forward Sophia Smith has been nominated for the 2023/24 CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year award. Recognized as one of the most skilled goal scorers in the world, the 23-year-old earned the NWSL Golden Boot in 2023 after scoring 11 goals for Portland. Additionally, she ranked second in the league in assists with 5 assists and was named to the NWSL Best XI. In 2024, she has already scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists. Smith was also nominated for this award last season as well.
