What Summer Cup is:
The NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the two leagues, started over the weekend. This groundbreaking tournament features all 14 NWSL clubs and the top six teams from the LIGA MX Femenil: Tigres UANL, Club América, Chivas de Guadalajara, Rayadas de Monterrey, Pachuca, and Tijuana.
The 33-match tournament begins with 30 group stage matches, followed by a four-team semifinal round on August 6. The semifinal doubleheader will take place at CPKC Stadium, home of the Kansas City Current, in Kansas City, Missouri. The championship match is scheduled for Friday, October 25, at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas.

The collaboration between the NWSL and LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup kicked off on July 19th which features all 14 NWSL clubs and six teams with the most points achieved in LIGA MX Femenil Clausura and Apertura during 2023, which includes Tigres UANL, Club América, Chivas de Guadalajara, Rayas de Monterrey, Pachuca and Tijuana. Group stage games take place through Friday, August 2nd.
Home to San Antonio FC, the inaugural Summer Cup Championship will take place at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, October 25th at 6:30 pm. The championship will take place the weekend before the NWSL’s regular season concludes its final games on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The championship match will be on CBS Sports Network and Paramount+.
