10 things you may have missed from the opening weekend of Summer Cup

Sofia Huerta’s game-winner for Seattle against Utah gave her a goal in four different NWSL competitions (regular season, Challenge Cup, Fall Series and Summer Cup).

Cristina Ferral scored a brace in the 49th and 78th minutes to help Tigres UANL win the only Summer Cup game played in Mexico, 4-2, over Pachuca.

Cassie Miller saved Shea Groom’s penalty kick in the fourth round and Gotham FC went 5-for-5 from the spot to win the first Summer Cup PK shootout.

Narumi Miura converted in the bottom of the seventh round of the PK shootout to earn North Carolina two points against Orlando, 1-1 (5-4 in penalties).

Savannah DeMelo had the first two-assist game of her NWSL career in all competitions as Racing Louisville rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Monterrey, 3-1.

Michelle Cooper scored the second-fastest goal in Kansas City history (59 seconds) in the Current’s 3-1 victory over Houston.

María Sánchez scored her first NWSL game-winning goal in any competition in the 53rd minute as San Diego defeated Bay FC, 3-1. Kennedy Wesley, for San Diego, and Maddie Moreau, for Bay FC, both scored their first career NWSL goals.

Sydney Leroux has now scored game-winners in the regular season, Challenge Cup and Summer Cup after her 89th-minute strike was the difference in Angel City’s 2-1 victory over Club América.

Lena Silano put away her first career game-winning goal in the 47th minute as Washington held off Chivas Guadalajara, 2-1.

Christine Sinclair became the first player to score in all five NWSL competitions (regular season, playoffs, Challenge Cup, Fall Series, Summer Cup) and the first 41-year-old goal-scorer in league history. Meghan Klingenberg had two assists for the third time in her NWSL career, exactly a year after a two-assist game in the Challenge Cup versus San Diego.

Summer Cup
