The United States and South Korea both kick off their FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup campaigns in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday, October 16. The USYNT, featuring four young NWSL stars, take on Spain at 3 p.m. ET while Angel City FC forward Casey Phair and South Korea battle Colombia at 6 p.m. ET.

Angel City FC midfielder Kennedy Fuller, San Diego Wave FC midfielders Melanie Barcenas and Kimmi Ascanio, and Seattle Reign FC’s midfielder Ainsley McCammon will be leading the way for the USA.

At the helm for the USYNT is former NWSL player and current U.S. head coach Katie Schoepfer who played four seasons with the Boston Breakers from 2013 to 2016, making 68 NWSL appearances and tallying seven goals. Schoepfer is the first former NWSL player to coach a U.S. U-17 World Cup team.

Angel City FC forward Casey Phair, having already made history as the youngest player to appear at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, will look to continue her already impressive international campaign as South Korea competes for its second U-17 Women's World Cup title.
