Trinity Rodman (and Washington Spirit) Can’t Stop Scoring

Trinity Rodman may have left her iconic pink braids in Paris, but she certainly didn’t leave behind her game-winning flair. Fresh off winning gold with Team USA at the Paris Olympics, Rodman returned to the pitch on Sunday and showcased the goal-scoring prowess we’ve all come to expect.

In a commanding performance, the Washington Spirit defeated the Kansas City Current—one of the toughest teams to beat this season—by netting four goals while conceding just one. Rodman’s goal came in the 51st minute, with the Spirit already holding a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Making a signature darting run down the wing, she received a pass from the advancing Paige Metayer, cut inside, and fired off a quick shot that slipped past both defender and keeper—eerily reminiscent of her stunning goal against Japan in the Olympics.

And in true Trinity fashion, she celebrated in trademark Trinity style!

Rodman’s latest goal makes her just the third player in NWSL history to record multiple seasons with 10 or more goal contributions before turning 23—a clear sign that she’s a star fans will enjoy watching for years to come.
