That outcome will determine the winner of the East division and the final spot between Gotham FC and North Carolina Courage.Here’s where we stand going into the final matchup of group play: Clinched seeding 1 seed: OL Reign, won West Division 4 seed: Racing Louisville, top second-place finisher in all groups Clinched spot Kansas City Current, won Central division and will be either the 2 or 3 seed pending Wednesday result between NJNY and ORL Kansas City clinches the 2-seed with: Gotham loss or draw OR Gotham win by 6 goals or less Kansas City clinches the 3-seed with: Gotham win by 7 or more goals Still in contention Gotham FC Clinches spot and East division with a win Clinches 2-seed with win by 7 or more goals Clinches 3-seed with win by 6 goals or less North Carolina Courage Clinches spot, East division and 3-seed with Gotham draw or loss Semifinal matchups OL Reign will host Racing Louisville on September 6 at 10:00 PM ET at Lumen Field on CBS Sports Network. Kansas City will play either Gotham FC or North Carolina Courage, on September 6 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. Location will be determined based on seeding. Playoff format Four teams advance to the playoffs. The top team from each group advances to the semifinals, along with the highest placing 2nd-place finisher out of the three groups. Semifinalist seeds will be determined by their points accumulated in the group stage (as well as any applicable tiebreakers). Seeds 1-3 will consist of group winners, while seed 4 will be the one advancing second place team. The semifinals will take place on September 6 and the final will take place on September 9. Higher seeds will be given first priority to host all playoff games, pending stadium availability. The UKG NWSL Challenge Cup features the first-ever million-dollar prize pool in U.S. women’s soccer.
