Utah Royals FC. That’s the name for the new Real Salt Lake team, joining the NWSL for the 2018 season, the club announced Friday. Utah Royals FC will play their home games at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.In addition to the team name, Utah also announced season ticket information and their logo. The news capped off a week in which the Royals also revealed their inaugural head coach — former Seattle Reign FC coach Laura Harvey. The logo — in colors of gold, red and blue — features a Lioness head and the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, with a crown resting atop of the crest. The club said the first batch of t-shirts with the new logo will go on sale in two stores in Utah on Saturday (locations) and that more merchandise would be revealed this month. They also said the new home and away NIKE jerseys would be revealed prior to the 2018 NWSL College Draft on January 18, along with additional roster and front office moves. For fans wishing to check out the new NWSL team in person, the club announced Friday that Real Salt Lake season ticket members who have signed up at www.RSL.com/NWSL will gain access to priority seat locations at Rio Tinto Stadium for one week, beginning on Monday, December 4. The general public sale will begin on Monday, December 11. Season ticket prices start at $120 for 12 games, beginning in April 2018. The Utah Royals FC Supporters Group section will be behind the north goal at Rio Tinto Stadium and season ticket prices will be $120 for the 2018 season.
