The Washington Spirit secured a place in the 2024 NWSL playoffs after a 1-1 draw between the North Carolina Courage and Bay FC and a 1-0 victory by the Chicago Red Stars over the Portland Thorns on Friday night. With this result, the Spirit join the Orlando Pride as the only teams to have secured postseason berths so far.

The Spirit, with standout players like Trinity Rodman, Ouleye Sarr, and new signing Leicy Santos, have been a force to be reckoned with all season. On Sunday, the Washington Spirit defeated the Houston Dash with a 3-0 victory with goals by Ashley Hatch and Trinity Rodman.

The regular season concludes on Sunday, November 3. As part of the league’s expanded postseason format, eight clubs will qualify for the quarterfinal round taking place the weekend of November 9-10.

The semifinal round kicks off the weekend of November 16-17 ahead of the NWSL Championship on November 23. CBS and Prime Video will each air one quarterfinal match while ESPN/ABC will air the remaining pair of quarterfinal matches. CBS and ESPN/ABC will also each host one semifinal match.
