Washington Spirit Forward Makenna Morris Named October and November Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally

No. 13 overall draft pick notched three goals and one assist in four matches played 

**NEW YORK (November 7, 2024) -**The National Women’s Soccer League announced today that Washington Spirit forward Makenna Morris has been named the NWSL Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally, for the months of October and November by the NWSL Media Association and the NWSL’s on-air broadcast talent. 

Morris featured in four matches throughout October and November, notching three goals and one assist for the Spirit. The Germantown, Maryland, native registered her first career brace and only multi-goal game this season for a rookie during the club’s 4-1 victory over Racing Louisville FC on October 13.

Recording her fifth goal of the season on October 20, the former Clemson Tiger tied fellow teammate midfielder Croix Bethune and Racing Louisville forward Emma Sears for the rookie scoring lead. Morris also added three tackles to her stat sheet in 279 minutes played, helping the Washington Spirit secure the No. 2 seed for the 2024 NWSL Playoffs, presented by Google Pixel.
