Washington Spirit Midfielder Croix Bethune Named August Rookie of the Month, Presented by Ally

No. 3 overall draft pick wins award for a record-breaking fourth time 

**NEW YORK (September 5, 2024) -**The National Women’s Soccer League announced today that Washington Spirit midfielder Croix Bethune has been named the NWSL Rookie of the Month, presented by Ally, for the month of August by the NWSL Media Association and the NWSL’s on-air broadcast talent. 

Fresh off the plane from Paris with an Olympic gold medal, Bethune continued to make her mark as one of the top players in the NWSL, tying the single season assist record with 10 tallies during 2024. The dynamic midfielder recorded her 10th assist during the club's 4-1 victory over the Kansas City Current on August 25.

The former Georgia State bulldog added four successful dribbles past opponents in August as she continues to lead all rookies in both goals and assists during the 2024 campaign.
