A MUST WATCH REMATCH

The Orlando Pride host the Kansas City Current for the second match of the season between the two rivals. Last time the two powerhouse clubs met was the final weekend of games before the Olympic players departed for Paris. Orlando defeated the Current 2-1 to end Kansas City’s then-record undefeated streak of 17 games. The feisty match saw first-half goals from forward Barbra Banda in the 37th minute and Kansas City striker and current Golden Boot leader Temwa Chawinga in the 39th minute. Orlando Pride’s legendary forward Marta netted the game-winner from the penalty spot in the second half.

Pride goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse has recorded 10 shutouts this season to lead the league in the category. The Pride are sitting in first place in the standings, still undefeated through 20 matches dating back to October 15, 2023, as the Current looks to bring an end to the unstoppable reign of the Orlando Pride at Inter&Co Stadium.

THOMPSON SCORES FOUR

Angel City FC forward Alyssa Thompson, having scored four goals in three back-to-back matches, hopes to keep her streak alive by adding more tallies to her stat sheet against Racing Louisville FC this weekend. The young striker is tied with fellow forward Sydney Leroux for third club history in goals with seven tallies in her career. Leroux herself has logged two goals in two games for the Los Angeles-based expansion side. Sitting just below the playoff line in ninth place, Angel City looks to jump into playoff contention with a win.

BAY BACK-TO-BACK

In the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, Bay FC travels to Cary to face the North Carolina Courage, who are currently undefeated at WakeMed Soccer Park through 18 regular season games. Bay FC is riding a two-game win streak.

CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH

The reigning 2023 NWSL Champions, NJ/NY Gotham FC take on 2023 runner-up Seattle Reign FC for the second time this season. Gotham is unbeaten in its last three matches against the Reign with the most recent meeting occurring on June 30th when the two clubs tied 1-1 at Red Bull Arena. The match saw Rose Lavelle net a goal in the 47th minute before an own goal found the back of the net in stoppage time, allowing Seattle to level the score.

The Seattle Reign have won three consecutive matches as they continue to move up in the standings inching closer to playoff territory.
