Below is a selection of moments to watch for and notes to know entering Week 8 of NWSL regular season action. Week 8 match coverage continues Friday, May 10 as Racing Louisville hosts the Washington Spirit at Lynn Family Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

TUNE IN

Viewers tuning in to the NWSL this season can catch more than 120 matches across CBS, ESPN, ION and Prime Video. The remaining matches will be available for free on NWSL+, the league’s first-ever domestic direct-to-consumer streaming platform.

STAYING UNBEATEN

Along with the Orlando Pride, the Kansas City Current are last unbeaten team through seven weeks of 2024 NWSL action. Through eight games, the team has scored 21 goals from 11 different players, chasing the current record for most goal scorers on one team in a single season held by Angel City FC (2023), the North Carolina Courage (2022), and Portland Thorns FC (2022). .

COAS****TAL BATTLE

San Diego Wave FC hosts east coast rivals in NJ/NY Gotham FC for a rematch of the 2024 UKG Challenge Cup that saw the 2023 NWSL Shield-winning Wave defeat the 2023 NWSL Champions to lift another trophy off a goal from forward Alex Morgan.

CASCADIA CLASH

Closing out Saturday’s matches on ION, Seattle Reign FC host its neighbors to the south, the Portland Thorns, for another edition of the storied Cascadia Rivalry. Throughout this historic clash between the two iconic clubs, the Thorns have won 14 times and the Reign have won 15 times with eight draws all-time. This Saturday’s match marks an opportunity for the Thorns to even the all-time series with a win.

AFRICAN SHOWDOWN

Forward Barbra Banda and the Orlando Pride look to extend their unbeaten streak as they play host to Bay FC this Saturday. Banda, a Zambian international, welcomes fellow national team teammate and Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji along with Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala and Ghanaian forward Princess for a clash of African talent. Banda is on a hot streak, scoring four goals and two assists in four matches played, while Kundananji and Oshoala have each tallied two goals and one assist for Bay FC.
