San Diego Wave FC hosts east coast rivals in NJ/NY Gotham FC for a rematch of the 2024 UKG Challenge Cup that saw the 2023 NWSL Shield-winning Wave defeat the 2023 NWSL Champions to lift another trophy off a goal from forward Alex Morgan.
CASCADIA CLASH
Closing out Saturday’s matches on ION, Seattle Reign FC host its neighbors to the south, the Portland Thorns, for another edition of the storied Cascadia Rivalry. Throughout this historic clash between the two iconic clubs, the Thorns have won 14 times and the Reign have won 15 times with eight draws all-time. This Saturday’s match marks an opportunity for the Thorns to even the all-time series with a win.
AFRICAN SHOWDOWN
Forward Barbra Banda and the Orlando Pride look to extend their unbeaten streak as they play host to Bay FC this Saturday. Banda, a Zambian international, welcomes fellow national team teammate and Bay FC forward Racheal Kundananji along with Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala and Ghanaian forward Princess for a clash of African talent.
